Eff, Marry, Kill

I was so excited when I found out that two of my favorite bloggers were coming together again for one of the most FUN link up parties in the blog world.
Once again it’s time for:

photobucket

I have decided to use 3 men from the number 1 girl movie of the summer.
That was actually terrible, but as this pin from Pinterest says:

I’ve chosen 3 of these delicious males and they are as follows.

I WOULD:

EFF:
Mike
(Channing Tatum)

MARRY:
Ken
MATT BOMER
(I’m currently totally head over heels in LOVE with this man)

KILL:
Dallas
Matthew McConaughey
(I actually adore him, but in the movie he’s creepy and kinda gross. So I chose him)

WOO!

Looking at a good looking guy makes your day so much better!

(Ps. Sorry for all the link ups this week. I’ll try and come up with some more original stuff next week!)

Have a fun Thursday!

Book Swap

It’s Monday and I’m in Texas! Which I could not be happier about. We spent the weekend with my grandmother in New Mexico and watched my cousin get married.
Then the rest of the cousins and I went to see The Dark Knight Rises.Which was amazing.See it, it’s good!
So on this fine Monday evening I’m sharing the two books I was sent for the 3rd round of the Book Swap:

I was partnered with one of the co-hosts:  Katie from The Nerdy Katie.
She was so sweet! She sent me not just 1 but 2 books via my Nook.It was so easy!
Here is what she sent me:
Book number 1:

Here is the synopsis from Barnes and Noble:

She’s 33, unmarried, and stuffed into a Bubble Yum pink bridesmaid dress. And the whole town wants to fix her up with anyone with a dental plan . . .
Who’s going to rescue Sadie Hollowell now?
Everyone in Lovett, Texas, knows Sadie has always been a “notional” kind of gal. She got a notion to leave town ASAP and never visit her daddy (bless his heart) again. Now she’s back and got the notion to invite a good-looking, hard-muscled, total stranger to her cousin’s wedding. Better a stranger than some of the losers she’s dated.
Vince Haven got his muscles the hard way—as a Navy SEAL in Afghanistan. He’s staying in Lovett to visit his crazy aunt—the proprietor of the local Gas and Go. Before he can get the heck back out of the small town, his aunt makes him an offer he can’t refuse. Maybe he’ll stick around Lovett for a while. Maybe he’ll make a “go” of the Gas and Go. Maybe he’ll rescue Sadie out of that pink dress!

Thoughts:I already finished it and it was throughly enjoyable.  Light and fluffy.  Super easy read.  Actually I went online and bought a few more of hers.

Book number 2:

Synopsis from Barnes and Noble:
The historic hotel in BoonsBoro, Maryland, has endured war and peace, changing hands, even rumored hauntings. Now it’s getting a major facelift from the Montgomery brothers and their eccentric mother. As the architect of the family, Beckett’s social life consists mostly of talking shop over pizza and beer. But there’s another project he’s got his eye on: the girl he’s been waiting to kiss since he was fifteen…(via: Barnes and Noble)
Thoughts:I’m a huge fan of series and I’ve read one other series by Nora Roberts called The Bride Quartet.  I really enjoyed those books so I knew I would enjoy this one.  This is the first of three and it was really good.  Made me want to move to North Carolina and open a bookstore or a bed and breakfast. Can’t wait to read the other two! 🙂

Pretty good hull if you ask me!
Thank you so much Katie! You rock!

It’s Wednesday!

Yesterday was my first official day of training at the Epcot Guest Relations Window. What does this mean for all you non-Disney kids?
Well for starters, it means I’m moving into the major leagues of Guest Relations!Which is definitely a good thing. It also means I will learn everything I probably never wanted to know about how Disney tickets are sold, redeemed, altered (either by us or by someone else), and everything else under the sun.
The Window is a whole other ball game.  So I might even have to start a deal where I post about all the crazy ass people I’m bound to encounter! Because the window is where you really get all the crazies that come to Disney. From today alone my brain is 2 times bigger than before I started training. And it’s only been 1 day!It will be entertaining to say the least. Any way, today is Wednesday.
And Wednesday means it’s one day closer to Saturday, which means it’s one day closer to my happy little booty being back in Texas!
Wednesday also means it’s time to show off all my favorites from Pinterest this week:

Here we go:

Here is a little eye candy for you on this lovely Wednesday. You’re welcome.
Side note: I am currently OBSESSED with Matt Bomer.I honestly don’t think it healthy how obsessed I am.I mean look at this man. HE IS PERFECT!(he’s also gay)Which is a travesty if you ask me.
But it’s ok to look and dream right!?RIGHT!
Happy Wednesday! Photobucket

Me, Myself and I (Week 1)

I was browsing through my favorite blogs last week, when I found out that Breanna over at My Beautiful, Crazy Life and some other amazing ladies (who I now follow and you should too) were doing a link up every 3rd Tuesday of the month that would allow us to get to know each other a little better!

I thought it sounded like something fun to do so y’all can get to know me a little better.
I mean it is my blog, right! 🙂

So here we go.
1. What is your biggest phobia?                              This is gonna sound really strange but my biggest phobia is crickets!  BLEGH! During the late summer months in central Texas we get bombarded with crickets.  Seriously they are EVERYWHERE!  Especially at night when the big campus lights are on.  They flock to it.  Gives me the hibby-jibbies just thinking about it.  Even in daylight crickets are gross.  Ok, we’re gonna move on from the crickets now.

2. If you could relive one day of your life, what would it be and why?
Ok, I’m gonna get kinda personal with this one.  I would relive the day I lost one of the most personal things someone can lose.  Pretty sure you all know what I’m talking about, so I don’t think I need to type it.  Let’s just say that my first experience was not the greatest.  If I could relive that night, I would, without a doubt and I would save it for someone I love.  I’m not saying I would have waited till marriage, but I definitely would have waited for someone who was worth it.  I was about to tell you all that I regret it 100% but then I was this quote on Pinterest:

I don’t think I necessarily regret it, because I did learn from it.  But if I could, I would relive the day so I wouldn’t have had to learn that lesson in such a difficult way.

3. If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?
Ok so I don’t have a just one age, it’s a whole decade.  See I grew up in the 90s and I can name about 100 ways it was better than today.  But I’ll just name a few; Disney Channel and Nickelodeon actually played good shows, BSB and N*sync (this in and of itself should be enough),  Lisa Frank, Nano Pets, TGIF (ie. Boy Meets World and Saved by the Bell), Easy Bake Ovens, we actually played outside and had to use our imaginations instead of using IPhones and IPads for entertainment, and the list goes on and on and on and on.
I think this sums it up pretty well:

4. Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?
This is an easy one. Anna Faris.Y’all will know her as the chick from Scary Movie. But she’s also been in Just Friend with Ryan Reynolds, House Bunny, and What’s Your Number with Chris Evans.I have been hearing this since I started college my freshman year and I continue to hear it to this day.Heck even one of my managers in Guest Relations says I look just like her.I’ve heard it in the parking lot of HEB and even from guests in the Lobby at work.I dunno if I see it, but there it is.
What do y’all think?

 5. What songs are included in the soundtrack to your life?
1. Pretty Woman-  I loved this song growing up.  I would beg my parents to play it for me.In fact I loved it so much that my dad bought me the movie when I was 7.Yeah, as in the one about the hooker staring Julia Roberts.  When my mom asked him what the hell he was thinking.  He responded with, “Well she loves the song.”
2. Just about everything by the Eagles- They are my parent’s all time favorites.  They played them on car trips and all during the summer in our house.
3.  Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman by Bryan Adams- This is my all time favorite song.
4. Just Haven’t Met You Yet by Michael Buble-  This has been my theme song for…well ever…because I’ve been single for that long. So it will need to be remembered. It also gives me hope!
5. One or two songs from my favorite musicals ( Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Meet Me in St. Louis).
6.  Love Story by Taylor Swift:  This is just one of those songs that make me happy.
7. All of Tim McGraw’s songs- He’s my favorite singer.  EVER.
Those are really all the songs I can think of right now.So well go with those.  Now I’m know there are more because my life isn’t even half over.So stay tuned for the rest.

Well there ya have em.  First 5 questions complete.Do y’all know me a little better now?I hope so!

Hope y’all have a great Tuesday!Photobucket

A Few of My Favorites

Today I thought I would share a few of my favorite makeup products with all of you.

These are all products that I use in my day to day makeup routine.  It doesn’t take me that long to do my makeup in the morning, usually about 15 minutes, unless I have extra time then I stretch it out a little longer just because I can!

Now I have to warn you.  I don’t have any designer/expensive products in my makeup routine.  Like NONE!  Every now and then I will use my roommate Suzanne’s eyeshadow and bronzer because they are both amazing, but for the most part I stick with products that I can buy at Target.   If I could buy the more expensive brand of makeup I totally would.  I’m cheap though and unless I have  a little extra money in the bank I make myself stay away from Sephora and MAC.
So here we go.
I’ve been pretty lucky when it comes to my face and acne/break outs.  My skin is not super oily and I usually will only get a blemish or two every now and then.  So I don’t have an extensive face cleaning regimen.  That’s not to say I don’t wash my face every day.  That is definitely something I do, just because I like to start with a clean palette for my makeup.  Lately I’ve been using this:
For me this product is doing it’s job.  My face feels clean and fresh after I use it.  When I’ve finished with a face wash I usually change it up and buy something different.  I’ve heard that it’s been for your skin to change it up otherwise your skin gets too used to the product and could stop working.  So when this runs out I’ll probably try a new one.  Mostly likely it will still be in the Neutrogena family because that is one of my favorite brands.  Their makeup remover is really good too!
Next up is foundation.  This is the only item that I am willing to spend more money on.  I use BareMinerals and LOVE IT.
Luckily this powder lasts like 3 months so I don’t have it buy it that often.  When you put it on it is weightless and covers great!  I will never go back to any other foundation ever again.
For everyday use as far as eyeshadow goes I’m using Maybelline Golden Metallics in Chai Latte.  At least for right now anyway.  When this runs out, I’ll probably change it up again.  The eye shadow that Suzanne has is Naked 2 by Urban Decay and the next time I have a little extra moolah, I fully intend to purchase it.  Until then though here is what I use:
As far as eyeliner goes, I only wear it on my top lid unless I’m going out on the town (which is rare, so you can imagine how often that happens.) I’ve been using this brand for about 2 years now and I really like it.  It goes well with brown eyeshadow which is what I always wear during the day. It’s Almay Intense i-color light interplay for blue eyes.
My all time favorite mascara is Covergirl Lashblast Volume!  Seriously this is the best mascara EVER. It gives you thick and full lashes that last all day long.  I use waterproof mascara because if I don’t my eyes water.  It’s actually really annoying but I’ve learned to live with it.  I will only ever be able to use waterproof mascara.
Last but not least is the bronzer and blush I use.  I usually just lightly coat my face in bronzer and then add blush to my cheekbones.  My bronzer is by smashbox and it is called Baked Stardust (this is the only other expensive product I have).
And the blush is by Aveda and is called Apricot Whisper. (I got the blush after getting my makeup done during my best friends wedding) I love it.  It’s not too dark nor too light.  It’s just right!
My make up routine is very simple and not too fussy.  I’ve been doing it the same way for years now, using basically the same types of makeup.  I really want to start wearing some type of lip stick but I haven’t found one that is good for everyday use yet.  For now I’ll just stick with one of the 4 different lips glosses that are currently floating around in my purse.
Suggestions are welcome! 🙂
Have a great Tuesday!

Smell the Roses

It’s Monday!
Which is A-Ok with me because it means I’m one day closer to going home to Texas for 1 WHOLE WEEK!
So today I’m doing another link up (lazy blogger much?) with one of my very favorite bloggers.
Every Monday, Jessica over at Lovely Little Things does a link up called Smell the Roses.
Each week she has little challenges that make you stop and Smell the Roses!
This week she asked us to watch our all time favorite movie.
If you know me, you know that I love and adore movies, so it was really difficult to just pick one.
But I did it!
So here we have…..

Lovely Little Things
My all time favorite movie is :

I love everything about this movie.
All the story lines and how they intertwine in some way or another.  I have laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve been anxious….pretty sure I’ve felt every emotion ever (save for like scared) while watching this movie.
Plus it takes place at Christmas time! Who doesn’t love a Christmas movie.  (Yes I watch it even when it’s not Christmas)
Also it’s set in London.  Enough said.
Now let me share a few of my favorite scenes from the movie!

This is my favorite story line…..Natalie and the Prime Minister David! 🙂

He’s my second favorite story line.
Ah! I this movie makes me so happy.
Thanks Jessica for such a fun topic this week! 🙂
Till tomorrow.

Sunday Social

Ok so I don’t usually post on weekends but this link up is so fun that I just had to participate!

I hope you’ve all had a great weekend! Mine has been stupendous but it’s back to work for me today.

Enjoy your Sunday Fundays kids, I’ll be giving a Segway tour! 🙂

This weeks Sunday Social link up is all about one of my favorite things:

TV!!

So without further ado, I give you…….

Sunday Social

Favorite TV show of the past:I’m not sure how far into the past we’re talking here, so I’m gonna assume we mean pretty far in the past.  So I’ll go with Bewitched. My mom wants my children to call her Grandmamma just like Tabitha calls Endora in the show. It’s silly and while I tell her it will never happen, it probably will.

Favorite TV show currently:Easy, Once Upon A Time.I just found out that Sleeping Beauty will for sure be in Season 2.This is why I’m ready for the month of September/October.

Which Reality Show would you NEVER do?I would never do The Bad Girls Club. While I love watching this show, I’m actually horribly embarrassed for these girls most of the time.

Which Reality Show would you LOVE to do?
I am DYING to be on The Amazing Race. And trust me, one day you WILL see my brother and me on it. We would make the perfect team. He’d have the physical stuff down and I would have the mental stuff down. We’d fight (which would make for great TV) and we’d totally have each other backs (which would too). We’d totally win.

TV personality/character that you feel is most like you?I’ve never thought of this before.  So I could be totally wrong, but I think that if I were to become a Doctor with my personality, then Izzy Stevens from Grey’s Anatomy would be me.I know I would get too emotionally involved with my patients.  Plus she’s blonde and so am I and I’ve heard Katherine Heigl curses a lot and so do I. (Bad habit I know!)

TV character you’d want to date?
Like there is just one person on this list. There’s like 50.But if I had to choose someone right now it would be Neil Caffery from White Collar. This is him…..

Goodness he is attractive. (FYI: The actor, Matt Bomer is being considered as Christian Grey and you can drool over him in Magic Mike too!)

I’m a huge TV junkie.  So it was pretty tough to just decide on one answer for each question. But there we are.
Have a blessed Sunday friends! 🙂

It’s Friday!

Wow another week is gone.
I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that is is fixin to be the second week of July!
Before you know it we’re all gonna be showing off our favorites for the fall.
But lets stick with the present shall we.
Time to share my 5 favorite things from this week:
Photobucket

one.Obviously seeing the sea turtles is number one on this list!To read all about my sea turtle adventure click here.

two.I got a new bed frame!!For the last year, yes 1 YEAR, my mattress has been sitting on the floor. With a box spring and the mattress.I finally got tired of it and decided to out my big girl panties on and buy a new frame.I got this one from IKEA and put it together with the help of my roomie Sara.

I think I need to take out the box spring though cuz I am super high up now.I’m pretty tall and when I sit on the bed my feet don’t touch the floor.

three.Suz drew a picture of me one night.  And I think it’s hilarious.Pretty accurate save for the big hair and red lips!

four.I spent the first half of my 4th of July like this:

And the second at work getting yelled at because the Magic Kingdom had reached capacity and they weren’t letting any one in from about 7:25-8:40 and watching this happen:

We got to go out and watch the fireworks!

You could feel the boom in your chest and it looked like the sky was having a seizure.

five.Yesterday, Suz and I went to Texas Roadhouse!Yes, I found one in the state of Florida. It was heavenly. (even though the waitress brought me Chicken Fried Chicken, rather than Chicken Fried Steak.)The sweet tea and the rolls totally made up for it.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend! 🙂

I Like Turtles

Last Saturday night after work, a group of us from Epcot drove out to the Disney Resort in Vero Beach, Florida.
The resort is about an hour and half from Orlando and one of their biggest draws is the fact that hundreds of sea turtles make their way to this beach to lay their eggs.  Each night guests have the chance to sign up for night walks.  During the night walks you have the opportunity to watch the sea turtle come to land, lay their eggs, bury or camouflage them, and then make their way back into ocean.  If you’re really lucky you may even get to see one of the nests hatch.  Meaning there would be hundreds of baby sea turtles making their way back into the sea.
Our group got the opportunity to see this happen!
Well not the baby turtles (that would have been even more amazing), but we did get to watch a sea turtle lay her eggs!!
Most of you are probably thinking, “EW! Gross!”
But actually it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen!

Here’s a breakdown of how the evening went:
When we got to the hotel our first stop was to the restaurant Shutters, where I stuffed my face with this:

Then at 9 o’clock we headed over to meet up with the rest of our group to get some very important turtle egg laying instructions.
During this part, our guide told us that there was a chance we wouldn’t see any turtles.
And that the previous night, they spent an hour doing Disney trivia and even had a mini talent show.
Luckily for us, that didn’t happen.
After we got through hearing all the dos and don’ts, our guide got the call!
A TURTLE HAD HIT THE BEACH!
Obviously we were all ecstatic.
So we trouped out, single file to the place where the turtle had decided to lay her eggs, waited until we new she was all settled in and then got to go up and watch her lay!
We couldn’t take any pictures because it might disturb her while she was doing her thing.
(Which believe me was no easy feat! I was DYING to take a picture.  But I restrained myself)
This picture gives a pretty good idea of what it looked like though.
It was so amazing!
It took her about 40 minutes to lay all 125 eggs (you read right!  Sea turtles will lay between 100 and 125 eggs in one sitting), then we watched her cover the nest and turn around and make her way back to the ocean.
Our group even decided to sponsor the nest the sea turtle made!  And we’ll be able to watch the progression of our babies online.
Our next adventure with the sea turtles will hopefully happen in 60 days, which is when the eggs from our nest will hatch!

We spent the whole time saying, “I Like Turtles” just like that little zombie kid from that news video that pretty much everyone has seen.  And if you haven’t click here and you’ll get a special treat.
Hilarious!
And with that…..I LIKE TURTLES!
Have a great Thursday!
