Graduation Pictures!

This weekend on of my best friends Monica took some graduation pictures for me!
They came out amazing…if I do say so myself! I’ll post some of them on here sometime soon but for now
go check out her blog and see just how amazing her photography skills!
Happy Monday!
Kathleen

I’m 23! Wait what?!

Wow has it been a crazy couple of weeks.  Sorry it has been so long since I’ve blogged.  I know all of you have missed me!
Here is what I have been up:
1. Student teaching (Duh) and still loving it. (I only have 6 weeks left and I am super excited!)
2. I had only whole week off (my last Spring Break EVER) and I went home.
3. Me and Jenny went with Ashley and a bunch of her female relatives to watch Ashley try on wedding dresses for the very first time! 🙂  It was so exciting watching her try on beautiful dress after beautiful dress.  Of course she looked amazing in every dress she tried on, but I think she found the one!
So happy for you Ashley!
4. Me, Jenny and Ashley went to the Zoo!
5. I HAD A  BIRTHDAY!
Yep March 18th was my 23rd birthday.  Had a super yummy dinner at Olive Garden with my best friends.
I had a very special surprise waiting for me when I got back to the little yellow house on Sunday night. My roommates got me my favorite meal from Taco Cabana, made me a birthday cake (and sang Happy Birthday of course), and they even decorated my room for me with balloons and streamers and a super cute sign!  It was so sweet.  I have the best roommates EVER!
23 is going to be FABULOUS!
6. While I still haven’t heard anything about the Professional Internships I’ve applied for with Disney (don’t worry, NO NEWS IS STILL GOOD NEWS)
I did get my offer to do another College Program.  I was offered the Character Attendant role, which is really exciting because that means I would be in Entertainment, for the Fall Advantage program.
So if I don’t get the PI (please keep your fingers crossed that I do though) I will definitely be going back to Florida anyway on another College Program.
Oh one more thing I have to mention is that it is finally SPRING TIME and I could not be more excited! Time to break out the cute springtime dresses and flats! WOO HOO!  🙂
Well there ya go.  That is my update! I promise the next post will be something more fun! 🙂

Grateful

I was browsing through some google images and I came across this picture.
It was the words that made me start thinking:
What am I grateful for?
1. My parents: I am who I am today because of my parents.  Their constant love and support has been invaluable and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.
2. My little brother: Well not so little (he’s 21) but I seriously cannot imagine what my life would be like without him in it.  It sucks because I don’t get to see him too often, but I know he’d be there if I needed him.
3. My friends: Ashley, Monica, Abby, Jenny, Suzanne, Kelly, Whitney, Katie, Ashtyn, and Kelsey, I do not know how I would get through my crazy life without any of you.  I know that I can count on all of you no matter what. You girls are amazing and I am so lucky to be able to call yall my friends.
Those are my top 3.
So I think I just decided that I am going to make this a weekly thing.
Each week I am  going to choose the top 3 things I’m grateful for and share them with you all.
(Well for those of who read this lame blog of mine!: )
YAY!
Happy Monday,
Kathleen

Date a girl who reads

So I know this is my 3rd post today, but I just stumbled (it’s actually a site where you just sit and stumble through different websites, I’m addicted) on this blog.
It is called The Monica Bird.  I don’t know if she actually wrote this post but  since I am the biggest book worm EVER I decided I had to share some of it with you!
(PS. I didn’t write any of this, that is my disclaimer just in case!)
Date a Girl Who Reads:
“Date a girl who reads. Date a girl who spends her money on books instead of clothes. She has problems with closet space because she has too many books. Date a girl who has a list of books she wants to read, who has had a library card since she was twelve.

Find a girl who reads. You’ll know that she does because she will always have an unread book in her bag. She’s the one lovingly looking over the shelves in the bookstore, the one who quietly cries out when she finds the book she wants. You see the weird chick sniffing the pages of an old book in a second hand book shop? That’s the reader. They can never resist smelling the pages, especially when they are yellow.

It’s easy to date a girl who reads. Give her books for her birthday, for Christmas and for anniversaries. Give her the gift of words, in poetry, in song. Give her Neruda, Pound, Sexton, Cummings. Let her know that you understand that words are love. Understand that she knows the difference between books and reality but by god, she’s going to try to make her life a little like her favorite book. It will never be your fault if she does.

Fail her. Because a girl who reads knows that failure always leads up to the climax. Because girls who understand that all things will come to end. That you can always write a sequel. That you can begin again and again and still be the hero. That life is meant to have a villain or two.

Why be frightened of everything that you are not? Girls who read understand that people, like characters, develop. Except in the Twilightseries.

If you find a girl who reads, keep her close. When you find her up at 2 AM clutching a book to her chest and weeping, make her a cup of tea and hold her. You may lose her for a couple of hours but she will always come back to you. She’ll talk as if the characters in the book are real, because for a while, they always are.

You will propose on a hot air balloon. Or during a rock concert. Or very casually next time she’s sick. Over Skype.

You will smile so hard you will wonder why your heart hasn’t burst and bled out all over your chest yet. You will write the story of your lives, have kids with strange names and even stranger tastes. She will introduce your children to the Cat in the Hat and Aslan, maybe in the same day. You will walk the winters of your old age together and she will recite Keats under her breath while you shake the snow off your boots.

Date a girl who reads because you deserve it. You deserve a girl who can give you the most colorful life imaginable. If you can only give her monotony, and stale hours and half-baked proposals, then you’re better off alone. If you want the world and the worlds beyond it, date a girl who reads.

Or better yet, date a girl who writes.”

I think this sums what life would be like for a guy who was in a relationship with me pretty well.
It would be fun, exciting, romantic, unpredictable, sweet, trusting, at times frustrating, and of course loving.
I cannot wait to fall in love.  I cannot wait to find that special someone who I will spend the rest of my life with.
And until he finds me, I’m happy to just sit and daydream about him.
I believe in true love,
Kathleen
(Last post for today I promise! hehe)

Last one

Yesterday was my very last Disney College Program live presentation.
I’ve been a Campus Representative since I finished my first College Program in 2008.
I basically recruit college students to do the same program I did.
I’ve made being a Campus Rep a huge part of my life and it is sad to think that it is over.  But I know I am on to bigger and better things!!
(I asked my recruiter about not hearing anything about the PI and she said “No news, is good news!”  YAY! 🙂
My amazing rep team presented me with a little goodbye present.  Here it is:

They gave me my very own Princess Aurora doll, a Princess Aurora cup, and a Disney Princess bag!
(If you haven’t guessed Princess Aurora is my favorite!)
Not gonna lie, I got teary eyed!
PS. I want to send a big congratulations to one of my bestest friends in the entire world, Abby Crain.  She just got a CP job in Guest Relations at Disneyland!! I am so proud of her! 🙂
I heart Sleeping Beauty,
Kathleen

Free Day

This week is TAKS practice week.  As a result, we only have 20 minute classes Tuesday-Friday.
We decided to give the kids a break today (since they took the English-Language Arts official TAKS test).
So it was a free day.
Here is what some of my students in 4th period drew on the white board.
I just love how creative they are….and funny too! 🙂

I’m pretty sure this is supposed to be the school.
And their reaction to being given a “free day”
Student drawings are the best,
