High Five For Friday!

It’s finally Friday! WOO HOO!
Well not my Friday, I have to work this weekend.Actually now that I think about it.  I don’t have any days off for like the next 10-12 days.Gross. I was supposed to have tomorrow off, but I decided to pick up a shift in Guest Relations back at Epcot.What can I say, I just can’t stay away!  Seriously though, I miss it so much.This will give me a chance to see everyone and get back in more direct contact with guests.YAY!
Then on Sunday I start training for my next program.It’s another Physics program and it’s called Energy and Waves.I’ll give you all the details on it once training is over.

So today I’ve decided to participate in another link up.This one is with Lauren over at From My Grey Desk.She’s super cute and this link up is super fun.

Basically you share your 5 favorite things from the week.
So here we go:
One:  Wednesday I had my first real group of students for the Properties of Motion program.  I say it was my first group because I was totally SOLO!  Yep this one was all me.  It went great, but I felt terrible for the kids because they had been on a bus all night.  Got to Disney at 7:00am and we started right away.They were pretty much checked out by the time we got to our last ride.

Two:  Seeing The Artist was definitely a favorite.  Seriously y’all have to see this movie.
Three:  Until I save just a few more dollars for an Erin Condren planner. I bought myself a temporary one from Target, that I LOVE! (I’ve already got my Erin Condren planner picked out and in my shopping cart.  Just gotta press the confirm button.  Hopefully I’ll be able to buy it next week!)

Still I’m pretty happy with this one.  It’s getting the job done.  For now! 🙂

Four:  My Disney “School Picture” as I’ve been calling it.  It was pretty fun getting primped and pretty for a special picture.  

Who knows one day I might be the CEO of Disney and they’ll use that photo as remember when type thing.

Hey it could happen! 🙂

Five: I’ve gotten a little over 10 new followers over the course of this week.

It’s Ok Thursday and More

Yesterday Suzanne and I saw one of the movies on my list of “Movies to See”.
We saw:

Now before I give you my review I want to warn y’all.

I don’t listen to critics.

At all.

If the critics hate it, chance are I will still like it.

There you have been warned.

Now on to The Artist.

It was AMAZING.

Seriously one of the best movies I’ve seen.

It is so different from any other movie that is out today.

The movie it self is completely silent.

So the music, the costumes, and the actors facial expressions told the story.

You didn’t need any dialogue. 

I can definitely see why this movie has gotten so much attention.

We haven’t had a movie like this in a long time.

That’s not to say this movie is for everyone.

You have to be content with no dialogue and I think that might be hard for some people today.

But I loved it.

Go see it if you have the chance. 

I give it an A+ and will fully support The Academy’s decision to give it Best Picture.

Which I think it should.

Also, I’m watching Midnight in Paris as I type this post.

It too is really good.

See it! 🙂

Especially if you love Hemingway, Piccasso, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Dali, and a whole bunch of other famous 20th century artists and writers!

Just kidding. But seriously.

A New Addition, a Date, and Pictures!

Happy Monday pretty friends!
This was my first weekend that had fallen on the actual weekend.Reminds me of being back in school and I must say:I LOVE IT! 
My weekend was probably one of the most eventful I’ve ever had!Why you ask?
Well for starts we got a new addition to our little family.
I am pleased to introduce:

Harry Winston! 

If you are wondering if we named him after THE Harry Winston as in…

“She’s got the 6-carat Harry Winston, on her boney, unpolished finger.”

(name the movie)  

Then you are CORRECT!

Yes, we now have a dog!

Officially he belongs to my roommate Sara, but of course we will all be taking care of him.

We rescued him from a shelter so he’s already house broken, doesn’t bark, listens well! 

Bah he’s just perfect! 🙂

Expect to see a lot of him on here from now on! 

Next: On Saturday, I went on a date!

Now this was my first date in….well forever!

Seriously FOREVER!

We’ll call him A for now.

We didn’t do anything super special.

It was very casual and fun.

We had drinks at one of the Disney hotels and then we were supposed to watch the fireworks at Epcot.

But we got so distracted just talking that we completely forgot about the fireworks.  

We sat in the same spot talking for over 3 1/2 hours!

It was perfect!

We just got to know each other better. 

And guess what?!

We’re going to dinner on Tuesday! 

 🙂

Sunday was spent getting to know Harry better and just relaxing.

Pretty good weekend if you ask me.

Ok so now for my year in pictures update!

1.  1/13/12: New Hair Cut!

2. 1/14/12: Saw Beauty and the Beast in 3D 

3. 1/15/12: First day of Y.E.S training.  3 of 5 great interns.

4. 1/16/12: Had a great skype date with my best friend.

5. 1/16/12:  Dinner at Chili’s with friends.

6. 1/17/12: Game night with the same friends.

7. 1/18/12: Last day of Y.E.S. training.  Here is our entire training group.

8. 1/19/12:  Met up with my ECGR BF Jordan for a fun few hours at Animal Kingdom.

And last but not least:

1/20/12:  Got my best friends wedding invitation in the mail.

She’s getting married in March!

Y.E.S

For days now I’ve been promising y’all more on my new job!
Well I finally have the time to sit and actually tell y’all all about it!
First up:

That’s my training group.

We’re a mixture of Interns and Cross U’s.

(Cross U means that those people already have a job elsewhere with Disney and they are Y.E.S facilitators on the side)

We all learned a program called, Properties of Motion.

It’s a Physics program.

Now let me just say, I hate Physics.

HATE IT.

It was the only class in college that I ever dropped.

So when I found out I was going to be teaching not just one but two different Physics programs I kinda freaked out a little.

Nonetheless, I went in on my first day excited and eager to learn.

First day was easy peasy.

Went in and actually took the program then did some housekeeping stuff in the main office.

Days 2-5 were all about learning the actual program.

We get to take the students on Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean at the Magic Kingdom.

At each attraction we go over a different topic in Physics.

Space Mountain it’s all about potential/kinetic energy and speed, velocity and acceleration.

Splash Mountain covers Indirect Measurement.

And finally Pirates covers Pneumatics and Hydraulics using our Audio Animatronics.

We keep it as simple as possible.  We’re not there to teach the kids just show them how what they have already learned in their Science classes are applied in real work situations.

IE. How our Imagineers have to use Physics in the creation of our attraction at Disney.

The Y.E.S. programs number one goal is for the students to HAVE FUN. 

I can’t tell you how much fun I had on the last day.It was my check out day and I had a group of 8th graders from a school here in Orlando.They were so great!They were smart, they listened, they answered all my questions.I couldn’t have asked for  better first group.Now I know this won’t be the case all the time.But it was definitely a great start! 
I LOVE IT!It has brought together two of my favorite things: teaching and Disney and I could not be happier with it.
Up next I get to learn Energy and Waves (another Physics program also done at the Magic Kingdom).And the last program I’ll learn is called Millennium Cultures.This one is at Epcot in the World Showcase and is a History program (Thank god!)
Well there ya have it.I love my job and could not be happier right now! 
I hope you all are as happy with your lives right now as I am.If you’re not, go out and do something about it. Find something you love doing and do it. You won’t regret it.I promise!

It’s Ok Thursday!

It’s finally Thursday!  Which means it’s my very last day of training!Tomorrow I’ll have real live students to teach.
Oh and just FYI tomorrow will be the day you get to hear all about the new job! Figured it would make more sense to do it at the end of training rather than at the beginning or in the middle.

…..to really want an Erin Condren planner but cringe when you think about spending $50 on one.

They look so amazing though…I think I’m starting to cave.

…..to be excited about my date tonight!  Yes I said DATE..as in with a boy! 🙂

….to be annoyed/excited that President Obama is giving some big important speech tomorrow at the Magic Kingdom.  

(Annoyed because his visit is completely messing with my schedule tomorrow and excited because..it’s the President of the United States! How can I not be excited that he’s gonna be in the same place as me.)

So today I’m off work at like 12:45pm.  

Thank goodness.

So I’m planning on getting a jump start on some posts that I have planned tomorrow afternoon.

That’s the plan anyway.

We’ll see how it actually works out.

See if I had that Erin Condren planner…blogging and my life in general would be a lot more organized.

1. I used to have my belly button pierced but one day I lost one of the little balls and after just 2 days it closed up. Now I’m too scared to get it re-pierced.
2.  Cheesey mini-series based on the British aristocracy are some of my favorite things to watch.
3.  Cream Cheese and potato chips is one of my favorite snacks.
4.  If my nails are painted (finger or toe) and one chips, I HAVE to take all the polish off and then repaint them. It bothers me to have chipped nails. A LOT.
5.  I hate to cook  but when I do…it’s really good. I wish I liked to do it more.
6.  I hate folding laundry and emptying the dishwasher.
7.  I get totally grossed out by crickets.  They give me the hibby-jibbies.
8.  One of these days I want to attend an awards show!
9.  I can drink caffeine at any time of the day.  Even right before bed.
10.  I was in 4-H for and showed a rabbit named Nala.  She won!

I got the name from the Dr. Suess book and figured it was appropriate since I had a ton of new and exciting things ahead of me when I started this blog.  

It is still completely true since I’m still unsure of what the future will bring.

2. If you could change your name what would you change it to?

I’m actually really happy with my name, but if I absolutely HAD to change it.

I would change it to something old fashion like Adelaide.  Victoria is up there too!

3. What’s your favorite book?

I have more than just one. And honestly I couldn’t pick just one.

So I’m gonna go with everything written by Judith McNaught. 

4. What are 3 adjectives that best describe you?

Kind, loyal, and outgoing.

5. What blog (only one!) inspires you the most?

Yikes, just one!

A Year in Pictures

One of my NYRs (New Years Resolutions) is to take one picture for every day of 2012.
My best friend and I are doing it together.  She’s done way better than I have though.She has actually posted one picture a day.I, on the other hand, posted days 10, 11, and 12 all in the same day (ie. last night at around 10:23pm).Fail.That is not how it is supposed to work, but hey as long as it gets done, I’m happy.
But I figured since most of us are not friends on Facebook I would do one post a week where I share those pictures with you guys
So without further ado here are pictures from January 1-12, 2012:
1/1/12- Celebrating the New Year at Epcot!

 1/2/12: My cousin Candis came to Orlando and treated me to an amazing dinner at the Polynesian hotel.

 1/3/12: This was the forecast in Florida on the 3rd.  It was FREEZING!

1/4/12:  This was our last official day as Guest Relations interns.

And it is tradition for the interns to take pictures and bring them in a frame to put on the “Intern Wall.”

1/5/12:  Ok Bojangles is my best friend Abby’s absolute FAVORITE place to eat.

Seriously, the girl is obsessed.  

And when we live here in Orlando together she was constantly complaining that there was no Bojangles in FL.

I was driving around trying to find a bank and I found THIS instead.

Naturally I had to snap a picture and send it to her.

I think this has finally convinced her to move back to FL! 

 1/6/12: Brunch with some great girls in Celebration, FL. (ie. my future home).

 1/7/12: Last D-pin ceremony of my internship!

1/8/12: This was the position I was in for most of the day.

I was watching The Kennedy’s.

(That reminds me, I need to finish that). 

1/9/12: I have officially joined the Bare Minerals family.

IT IS AMAZING!

1/10/12:  Birthday dinner for my friend Amber at one of the best restaurants on Disney property, Ohana. 

1/11/12:  These are sandwiched from one of the funnest little shops I’ve ever been to.

It’s called Pom Poms Tea Shop.

YUM! 

I will def be returning to this place soon.

 1/12/12:  I love movies! Seriously they are my favorite things in the world.

Yesterday I saw New Years Eve.

It was cute. You’re typical romantic comedy.

Zac Efron and Josh Duhmal were my favorite parts! 🙂

Oh and speaking of movies, it is time for my FAVORITE season.

AWARDS SEASON!

 As I type this, I’m watching the Critics Choice Awards and it is totally getting me super excited for the Golden Globes on Sunday! 

Ah! 

The clothes, the celebrities, the montages….EVERYTHING.

I love it!

I’ve been pretty happy with the phone I have because I can check Facebook, my email, and it have navigation.But not anymore.I want something bigger and better.Now I just need to figure out how to get my mom on board with it!(Yes my mommy still pays for my cell phone because it’s cheaper than being on my own plan.)
I want to be able to blog from my phone, I want apps, I want Netflix, I want Instagram, and I want Facetime.
I have a MAC and I LOVE it and will never go to anything else.So I can only assume that the same can be said of the Iphone.For those of you who have Iphones, what are your thoughts?

Before I Kick It

Hello lovely friends!
So this is day three of my whole week off and I’ve already come to the decision that I could never not work.(If I had kids this would probably be different)But on the whole if I were to not work..I’d get super bored.Don’t get me wrong, one of my favorite things to do is lay in bed all day.But that is all I would want to do it for.  A DAY.Then I’d need somewhere to go, something to do.Something that would make money, not make me spend moneyYep, I’m definitely a working kinda girl.
Well that’s my rant for the day.
